About the section
The Sørbymagle Sports Association’s hockey section was founded in 1978 by a handful of enthusiastic hockey players. Sørbymagle is located in the Municipality of Slagelse (population approx. 78,968), with the town of Sørbymagle itself having around 1,200 inhabitants.
The hockey section operates under the Sørbymagle Sports Association, which also offers more traditional sports such as football, gymnastics, badminton, volleyball, and table tennis. Sørbymagle Hockey Club has active members across all age groups.
The hockey section is also affiliated with the Danish Hockey Union.
As there are relatively few clubs organized under the Danish Hockey Union—and many of these lack youth teams—we have always prioritized international cooperation to help raise our sporting standards.
In recent years, this initiative has expanded to include all the club's teams, and we now host an annual international indoor tournament for youth teams. Over the years, we have welcomed visiting teams from countries including Norway, Sweden, Russia, the Czech Republic, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Child Policy
DIF Project: "Towards a Good Sports Environment for Children"
In the 2001/2002 season, Sørbymagle Hockey Club—along with two other clubs in Denmark—participated in a quality development project titled "A Good Sports Environment for Children," which focuses on the clubs' most important asset: the children.
The project targets six specific areas that the club must work on systematically before it can receive the Danish Sports Confederation’s (DIF) quality seal as proof of the project's completion.
Sørbymagle Hockey Club received the certificate for a good sports environment for children in 2002.
Sørbymagle Hockey Club Child Policy / Objectives
· Above all, playing hockey must be fun - whether during practice, in matches, or in any other club context.
· We expect everyone to behave in a manner based on mutual respect, trust, and equality.
· Participating in club activities should foster both athletic and social development for each child.
· We emphasize that every child encounters responsible and competent adults who create an environment where everyone feels safe and at ease within the club.
· We aim for a steady annual increase of 10% in the number of members under the age of 18.
· We aim to achieve the best possible athletic results at all times, given the potential of the current player roster. This means we strive to be among the top three most successful clubs in the relevant tournament divisions. · We believe that hockey is best learned through play, and subsequently through systematic, targeted training planned based on the skill level of the individual and the team.
· We expect the coach, together with the individual team, to agree on sporting goals prior to each season.
We expect the following from the club’s children:
· that they arrive on time for training and matches
· that they notify us if they are unable to attend training or matches
· that tidying up after training is a shared responsibility
· that they display behavior considered "standard good conduct," both on and off the pitch
· We aim to promote fair play and knowledge of the rules by involving youth players in officiating.
· We expect parents to be actively and enthusiastically involved in the work surrounding individual teams and the club as a whole.
· Parents and club members can expect to be well-informed about all club activities.
Now you know what our hockey club stands for.
Other
The hockey section follows the guidelines of Sørbymagle Sports Club regarding the prevention of child abuse. This means that criminal record checks are conducted annually for all the club’s youth leaders. If you would like to know more about our efforts in this area, please feel free to contact the board.
Doping
Anti-Doping Policy
The Association condemns any use of doping and considers it ethically wrong to use artificial performance-enhancing aids to improve members' performance.
As a member of the Danish Hockey Union, the Association is subject to the anti-doping rules and testing regulations of the National Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation of Denmark (DIF).
Consequently, the club's members are required to participate in any doping tests administered by DIF.
Furthermore, the club's members are required to comply with any directives and sanctions issued by DIF or the relevant national federation in accordance with the anti-doping regulations.
The Association considers the use of doping substances to be so ethically unacceptable and hazardous to health that mere use—if reported by other members of the Association—may result in expulsion from the Association by decision of the Board, in accordance with the Association's statutes.
If you are unsure about which substances are on the doping list, please check Anti-Doping Denmark’s website: doping.dk.
